Dr Michael Chen

Dr Michael Chen is a Mater Mother Hospital Aligned GP and he graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine / Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from medical school in 2001. He obtained his fellowship of The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) in 2014.

Michael attained the Certificate of Skin Cancer Medicine and gained extensive experience in this field while working and training at a Skin Cancer clinic in Toombul. He holds the Australian Medical Council (AMC) Certificate as well.

Dr Chen is a highly skilled doctor in Calamvale with a special interest in the diagnosis and management of Skin Cancer as well as Dermatology, Emergency Medicine, Infectious Disease, Hepatitis, Men’s Health, Children’s Health, Palliative Care, Antenatal Care, Cardiology and Gastroenterology. He helps and supports patients with Mental Health issues and Diabetes Management.

Michael has worked in multiple positions including hospital medical officer and registrar, general practitioner, skin cancer doctor and metropolitan hospital emergency senior medical officer. He has also served as a locum rural hospital medical superintendent and provided home visits as well. He takes a keen interest in medical teaching and is also a GP educator.

Dr Chen has now been permanently settled in Calamvale and he aims to provide the community with an unrivalled level of not only General Health Care but also Skin Cancer Care.

Michael is available in Gowan Plaza Family Practice and Skin Cancer Surgery 6 days a week. He is competent to serve the families of the community with the best general health service and skin cancer service.

Dr Michael Chen is bilingual and is fluent in English as well as Mandarin.
