Dr Matthew Warburton is an experienced and approachable GP with a passion for supporting the health and wellbeing of his patients. He is a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and has 20 years’ experience as a doctor – 16 of those as a GP. He has worked in hospitals and general practice in the United Kingdom and in city and regional locations around Australia before deciding to settle in Brisbane in early 2020.
He is passionate about all aspects of men’s health, mental health, and women’s and children’s health, including preventative health and ageing.
Dr Warburton has special interests in dermatology, diabetes and endocrinology, and has undertaken further training in skin cancer medicine and surgery. He is excited to bring his experience of skin cancer medicine and surgery to our Bowen HIlls team, having worked for Qld Health as a GP with a special interest in dermatology at Cairns Hospital.
He is passionate about keeping up to date with the latest medical advances to ensure his patients get the very best available treatment and care. Matt has recently had the privilege of assisting urological surgeons in operating the latest da Vinci® Xi robotic surgical system, providing patients with minimally invasive surgical options in prostate and kidney cancer treatments.
Dr Warburton is a proud “Doctor Who” fan who always appreciates a good book and a run along the river. He adores his family, which includes his wife, Sophie, two energetic stepsons, a puppy, and a kitten. When he isn’t working he plays the piano, has an interest in history, and is trying to renew his university interest in Wing Chun Kung Fu.
