Dr John Hall graduated from the University of QLD in 2000 & has spent most of his medical career working as a GP Obstetrician in rural Queensland and was the owner of a large practice in Queensland’s Darling Downs region for over 13 years.
He is an accredited skin cancer doctor and has a diploma from the Australasian College of Skin Cancer Medicine. He has many years of experience in advanced skin cancer diagnosis and surgery.
He also provides contraceptive and family planning services including the insertion and removal of long acting reversable contraceptives (LARC) and implants. He performs vasectomies using minimally invasive surgery known as the “no needle – no scalpel” technique. John is a past president of the Rural Doctors Association of Australia and a past Board member of AMA Queensland. John recently stepped down as Director of Medical Services with the national GP corporate, Ochre Health. He continues to provide Obstetric services in St George in western QLD. He is currently working towards his MBA/MPH through JCU. As RDAA President, he has been at the forefront of the COVID-19 response for rural and remote health professionals. He has also been heavily involved in RDAA’s policy and advocacy work to deliver more doctors to country Australia.
John is married to his wife Tamara; they are the proud parents of four adult daughters. He enjoys running, sailing, fishing and the outdoors.
