Dr. Vakil was trained as a GP in the United Kingdom (UK) in 2008. he has a membership of the Royal College of UK and he was also awarded the Fellowship of Royal Australian College of GPs in 2014.
Apart from Family Medicine, he has experience of working in a variety of specialities including Geriatrics, Respiratory medicine, Psychiatry & Mental Health, Skin cancer, Paediatrics and chronic diseases management.Dr. Vakil has recently been awarded as an Honorary Senior Lecturer with the University of Wollongong and is passionate about training medical students.He has received a Diploma in Dermatology from Cardiff UK and he was also awarded the Professional Certificate in Skin Cancer Surgery & Therapeutics in Australia in 2017. He is experienced in managing Respiratory conditions, Diabetes, Skin checks, health assessments, Work cover related claims etc.
Telephone Appointment Policy
Telephone appointments are ONLY available for patients testing positive to Covid-19 or patients who are isolating as a close contact. Call reception on 42882518 to book in for a telephone consult if you’ve been affected by Covid-19.
All other patients are required to book in for a face to face appointment via reception or HealthEngine.
Script Policy
We are no longer taking script requests over the phone. You are required to book an appointment to see the doctor to get your prescription filled.
We do not prescribe Valium, Temazepam, Panadeine Forte, Endone, Targin, Palexia, Opioids/painkillers, Sleeping pills unless advised by specialist.
Billing Policy
From 1st April, 2022, most services will incur a private fee. Most consultations will be time based and fees will be payable at the time of the consultation.
All procedures will incur a private fee due to inadequate Medicare funding.
We need to charge an Out of pocket cost due to rising clinical expenses essential for the maintenance of the high quality service we aim for. The cost of running a practice has gone up over the years but the Medicare rebate remains unchanged.
We will continue to offer bulk billed consultations for DVA patients, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, children under the age of 16 and discounted rates for Concession Card holders
Out of pocket fees vary based on the circumstances, time/type of consult, duration of consult and procedures performed

New Patient Policy
New patients will be charged privately unless they are DVA patients, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders or children under the age of 16. Concession Card holders will be charged a discounted rate.
The first appointment will be a long consult to enable the doctor to record your previous medical history in order to assist you to the best of our ability. A long consult is privately charged at $105 with a Medicare rebate of $75.75.
Appointment Types
Patients requiring a referral, script, medical certificate, or results will need to book in to see the doctor. These will not be provided over the phone unless the patient has been affected by Covid-19.
Private forms
All private forms up to 10 pages will incur a minimum fee of $50 for specific applications and forms like housing and carer allowance etc. The fee will be discussed on a case to case basis.
