Gabbie holds an Honours Degree in Psychology from the University of Western Australia and Professional Doctorate in Clinical Forensic Psychology from the University of Melbourne. She is endorsed as a Clinical Psychologist with AHPRA and is a member of the Australian Psychological Society and a founding member of the Australian Clinical Psychology Association.
Over the past 15 years, Gabbie has worked predominantly in the public sector as a clinical psychologist, including: Juvenile Justice, Family Court, Department for Child Protection, Princess Margaret Hospital, and held the senior role of Co-Ordinator of Clinical Psychology at SARC. She has experience working with children as young as 4 years of age, adolescents, and adults. For the most part of her career Gabbie has specialised in trauma and victims of crime, but also has interests in:
· Childhood obesity
· School Refusal
· Fertility issues, complex pregnancies/traumatic births
· Stress management
Gabbie is proficient and experienced in formal clinical psychology assessment and report writing for various audiences including Court, Criminal Injuries Compensation, and diagnostic mental health assessments for Australian Independent Schools Association of Western Australia.
Gabbie uses a range of evidenced based approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Schema Therapy, Systemic Therapy, and Interpersonal Therapy.
