What to expect
History
Your endocrinologist will ask in detail about the symptoms you are experiencing, specifically related to the deficiency or excess of a hormone you may have. They will ask about previous tests, previous treatments and complications.
Other medical problems, medications, allergies, family history and social history are also all important.
Examination
Examination will depend on the type of endocrinological problem you have. Your endocrinologist will look for signs of a disease process as well as complications of the disease and treatments.
