Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital is a progressive, fully accredited teaching hospital located on a 28 hectare medical campus adjacent to Kings Park in Nedlands, 4 kilometres from the central business district of Perth.
Clinical services are provided via a devolved management structure encompassing six Clinical Service Units. The hospital has a distinguished record in patient care, teaching and research and is closely associated with the nearby University of Western Australia as well as Curtin, Notre Dame and Edith Cowan Universities.
There are currently 606 beds available, 88 of which are day patient beds. An additional 34 general medical beds are also currently accessible at Osborne Park Hospital and a 15 bed Care Awaiting Placement Unit is located at South Perth Community Hospital (known as the Gairdner Ward Interim Care). The hospital employs approximately 2,740 full-time equivalent staff.
