The AFOEM Training Program
The Australasian Faculty of Occupational and Environmental Medicine training program takes at least 4 years to complete.
It is based on the principle of self-directed learning. The trainee is responsible for their own progress through the competency based program.
The program aims to integrate a wide experience in occupational and environmental medicine practice with a range of activities to assist trainees to gain the necessary skills to pass each assessment component in order to gain Fellowship.
Components of assessment are:
- Written examination
- Clinical examination
- Research project
- During the course of the training program, the trainee must undertake one major research project relevant to occupational and environmental medicine
